VFD603-5 AC Motor Control

VFD603-5 AC Motor Control

Legacy

The VFD603 Series have all the features of the original VFD Series with several enhancements. They include a rugged steel or plastic NEMA 4X enclosure, an isolated front end, minimum speed adjustment potentiometer (pot), output voltage doubling, DC injection braking, and automatic or manual restart when power is restored. The VFD603 Series accepts reference signals that are 0-5 VDC, 0-10 VDC or 4-20 mA without an additional isolation card. The DC injection braking feature comes with two additional calibration potentiometers (Braking Current and Braking Time) for easy set up. There is never a need to program the VFD603 Series. The dual voltage VFD603 Series has a “doubling” jumper that can be set to output 230 VAC to the motor when only 115 VAC is available. Another jumper selectable option is for choosing automatic or manual restarting. The features, fl exibility and compact size of the VFD603 Series make it the ideal choice for AC motor applications under 1.5 HP in adverse surroundings.

Potentiometer Kit 202-0113 is included with a purchase of the VFD603-5

AC Line Fusing: Conveniently included

Variety of Motors: Permanent Split Capacitor (PSC), Shaded Pole, Synchronous, and 3Ø Induction

Doubler Mode: Will run 230 VAC motors with a 115 VAC line

Torque Foldback: Allows up to 200% torque for short periods to overcome intermittent peak loads, then reduces the torque to a (preset) safe level

Isolated Logic: Accepts floating or grounded 0-5 VDC, 0-10 VDC, or 4-20 mA signals

Selectable Auto/Manual Restart: Use a jumper to select if the drive should automatically restart after a fault condition clears

Adjustable Switching Frequency: Default 16kHz frequency can be changed to 4k, 8k, 10k, or 12k Hz using kit 202-0108. Higher frequencies result in audibly quieter motor operation, but lower frequencies produce less electrical noise and may prevent GFI tripping.

DC Injection Braking: Can be used for quicker braking

Thermally Protects: Drive recognizes when overheated as a result from overload. After flashing a warning code, it will trip if condition persists

Diagnostic LEDs: Power, Enable, Torque Limit, Fault (Undervoltage, Overvoltage, 250% Current Limit Trip)

User Adjustable Calibration Trim Pots: Minimum Speed, Maximum Speed, Offset, Torque Limit, Slip Compensation, Boost, Acceleration, Deceleration, Brake Current, Brake Time
