|These drives are designed for 90 or 180 VDC non-regenerative motor applications. They are powered by a 50/60 Hz, 115 or 230 VAC line source and can control permanent magnet or field-wound motors. With continuous current capacities up to 25 amps, these drives can control motors within the 1/20 HP to 5 HP range. Enclosure styles range from open-chassis, NEMA 1 steel, NEMA 4X steel, and NEMA 4X plastic. 1Q stands for 1-Quadrant and refers to the way a drive controls a motor. 1Q drives are sometimes called “non-regenerative” or “uni-directional” drives. 1Q drives can only output voltage and current in one polarity and cannot oppose an overhauling load or decelerate a motor faster than the time it would take via a natural coast. Reversing must be done by swapping the motor wires via power contactors, switches, or relays and the load must come to a complete stop before reversing.
