AC Input, Low Voltage Out

American Control Electronics offers drives designed to run on 115 or 230 VAC to control 12 or 24 VDC permanent magnet motors. These drives combine an AC to DC power supply with a PWM drive for a true low voltage BUS which is more beneficial to the motor. Also, the internal power supply allows for operation in a 4Q bi-directional mode (regenerative), something not possible by combining a low voltage drive with a traditional AC to DC power supply.

These drives are designed for 12 or 24 VDC regenerative motor applications. They are powered by a 50/60 Hz, 115 or 230 VAC line source and can control permanent magnet motors with peak current capacities up to 7 amps. 4Q stands for 4-Quandrant, sometimes called “regenerative” or “reversing”. These drives can output voltage and current in two polarities and can oppose an overhauling load, decelerate a motor faster than the time it takes via a natural coast, and can reverse on-the-fly without the use of power contactors, relays, or switches.
